This dramatic fossil specimen is a 50 million-year-old Amia Patterson from the Green River Formation. This is among the finest and most detailed examples we have ever found, with exceptionally well-preserved fins, scales, and bones. Examples of this predator with a near-complete dorsal fin are vanishingly rare.
