Description: A large fossil fish diptych featuring a 17" Mioplosus labracoides, two Diplomystus dentatus measuring 8″ and 18″, a 6-1/2" Cockerellites liops, and seven Knightia eocaena ranging from 5″ to 7″. The rich colors of the fossil fish are highlighted by the soft beige colors of the sculptural limestone matrix. The fossil-bearing stone was discovered in our quarry in southwestern Wyoming.

A beautifully preserved grouping of fossil fish flows across the two panels of this dramatic fossil fish mural: a Mioplosus labracoides, two Diplomystus dentatus, a Cockerellites liops, and seven Knightia eocaena are all included. The soft, beige colors of the natural limestone provide a gorgeous backdrop for the rich bronze hues of the fossils. These 50 million-year-old fossil fish are from the Early Eocene Era, and were discovered in our fossil quarry in southwestern Wyoming.
The two panels in this diptych feature a finished beveled edge and are backed in wood with a built-in French cleat. This diptych ships in a custom wood crate, fully insured against loss or damage. It arrives ready for immediate installation.
