This Accent-sized fossil fish mural was quarried from a rare dark limestone layer called "Mosaic Lake II". The mural is unique to our quarry and offers brown, tan, and gray colors with bold texture, and the fossils in this layer are typically exceptionally well preserved. This is because the stone is harder and more compact than other lighter-colored limestone found in the Green River Formation of Southwestern Wyoming. The fossil fish include a large and small Diplomystus dentatus, a Cockerellites liops, and two Knightia eocaena. The fossils date to the Early Eocene, 50 million years old.

The mural is framed in a handmade Wenge wood frame, and backed in wood. We have attached a two-part French cleat to the back for easy hanging.

We also provide a custom-made wood crate to ship the mural, which is fully insured against loss or damage.
