Fossil Mural on Gray background

Inquire

This fossil fish mural features a large Diplomystus dentatus, a Phareodus testis, along with three Knightia eocaena. Dating to the Early Eocene, these approximately 50-million-year-old specimens were recovered from our private quarry in southwestern Wyoming.

The softly hued limestone matrix with a gold-toned foreground provides an ideal backdrop, allowing the deep coloration and fine detail of each fossil to stand out. All specimens originate from a stone layer we refer to as "Fossil Lake Classic". This layer is part of the renowned 18-inch layer, celebrated for producing some of the highest-quality fossils ever found.

The mural is finished with a handmade Wenge wood frame and is backed in wood, with a two-part French cleat. The mural ships in a custom-made wood crate, fully insured against loss or damage. It arrives ready for immediate installation.
