example of the reverse side of an irregular mural

This irregularly shaped fossil mural features bold color and dramatic texture as the backdrop for exquisitely preserved, 50-million-year-old fossil fish. The fossils include a Diplomystus dentatus, two Knightia eocaena, and a partially prepared leaf, along with other plant fragments. The natural golden color highlighted in this mural was created by natural iron oxides in the stone. The dynamic interplay of color works perfectly with the rich stone texture. This exquisite example of natural history comes from our private stone quarry in Southwestern Wyoming, part of the Green River Formation.

The mural is finished with beveled edges and is backed in wood with a built-in French cleat. This mural ships in a custom-made wood crate, fully insured against loss or damage. It arrives ready for immediate installation.
