This irregularly shaped fossil fish mural was quarried from a rare dark limestone layer we call "Steel Blue Lake". The mural features a large Phareodus testis, 3- Knightia eocaena, and a Diplomystus dentatus. The mural also includes three additional partially exposed fossils. A Diplomsytus dentaus in the upper right corner, just to the left of the Knightia eocaena, a small Knightia eocaena, to the left of the two Knightia eocaena, at the center bottom. Crossing its skull is a small Mioplosus labracoides. The fossils date to the early eocene, 50 million years old. The mural was unearthed at our priviate quarry, part of the Green RIver Formation of Southwestern Wyoming.

The mural is backed in wood with finished beveled edges. A two part French cleat has been added to the back for easy hanging.

All of our murals ship in custom made wood crates, fully insured against loss or damage.
