This horizontal Accent-sized mural features a 19-1/2" Notogoneus osculus, and a 5" Cockerellites liops. Both specimens are exceptional in fossil preservation and detail. The fossils were discovered in the Fossil Lake layer of our quarry. The Fossil Lake layers are a series of fossil bearing layers that are part of the famous 18" layer or F1 layer of the Green River Formation. These layers yield some of our finest fossils. The age of the fossils is 50 million years old, Early Eocene. The stone has been backed in wood, and finished with a hand-made Wenge wood frame. We have attached a two-part, French cleat to the backs for easy hanging.
This mural ships in a custom-made wooden crate, fully insured against loss or damage.
