This irregularly shaped fossil mural was quarried from a stone layer we call "Fossil Lake". The stone has a light beige color with contrasting dark fossil fish and bold texture and shape. The fossils include two large and a small Diplomystus dentatus, a small Cockerellites liops, and four Knightia eocaena. The age of the fossils are 50 million years (Early Eocene). It was unearthed in southwestern Wyoming at the Green River Fossil Company quarry, part of the Green River Formation. The stone is backed in wood with finished beveled edges. We have added a two-part French cleat to the back for easy hanging.
We ship our murals in custom-built wood crates, fully insured against loss or damage.
