This mural contains a rare fossil turtle. The turtle is a Echmatemys sp. a member of the pond turtle family measuring 4-3/4" tall x 3-1/2" wide. These small hard-shell turtle fossils are extremely rare in the Green River Formation. This is likely due to their more terrestrial habitat. The age of the fossil is 50 million years old. This fossil has exceptional detail and dimension. The mural also features a small Knightia eocaena. It is supplied framed in a handmade Wenge wood frame, backed in wood with a cleat on the back.
