This large Gallery-sized fossil mural was quarried from a dark limestone layer within the Green River Fossil Company quarry. We call this stone layer "Mosaic Lake I". It is a hard compact limestone with unique colors and a light texture. The fossil preservation within this stone is exceptional. The contains a large Diplomystus dentatus, a Phareodus testis, a small Mioplosus labracoides, a Cockerellites liops, and five Knightia eocaena. The age of the fossils is 50 million-year-old. The mural is supplied framed in a handmade Wenge wood frame, backed in wood with a two-part French cleat on the back for easy hanging.
