This Collector-sized fossil mural was quarried from a rare dark limestone layer in our private fossil quarry that we call "Steel Blue Lake". Known for its exceptional fossil preservation, Steel Blue Lake yields some of our finest fossil murals. The flowing composition contains three Diplomystus dentatus, four Knightia eocaena, and a large Priscacara serrata. The stone is highly textured and highlights the range of colors found in this unique stone. The fossils date to the Early Eocene, 50 million years old.
The limestone is backed in wood, with a handmade Wenge wood frame. We attach an aluminum French cleat to the backs for easy hanging. Our murals ship in custom-made wood crates and are fully insured against loss or damage.
