This Gallery-sized mural contains a rare fossilized palm frond Saballites powelli measuring 103" tall. This is among the largest and most complete fossil palms we have unearthed. The palm is most unique in that it shows the leaf fanned out on the left side, then bent and wind-blown on the right side. The stone matrix contains bold textures and colors. The mural is supported and backed with a wood armature. It is framed in a hand-made Wenge wood frame. We have added a two-part Alder wood French cleat to the back for hanging. The palm dates to the Early Eocene, 50 million years ago. It was discovered in the Green River Stone Quarry, part of the Green River Formation of Southwestern Wyoming.

This mural ships in a custom-made wood crate, fully insured against loss or damage.
